SEVENTH SWORD SOUP
A few friends of mine and my self set off on a psychic
quest to a certain wood near Epsom. We were after a certain magic
artefact. All the psychic clues that we were given proved very
accurate. We ended up in the wood armed with spades and enthusiasm. We
found NOTHING. However, I'd made some soup and put it a flask. The soup
had no name but as the quest was inspired by the book THE SEVENTH SWORD I decided to call the soup Seventh Sword Soup!
I lb of onions finely chopped.
2 cloves of garlic.
2 tablespoons of olive oil.
2 and a half pints of water.
I heaped teaspoon of turmeric.
I teaspoon of sea salt.
I heaped teaspoonful of Patax Chilli Pickle (or any good Indian chilli pickle).
2 heaped teaspoons of demerara sugar.
I heaped tablespoon of Gram Flour (chickpea flour). Mix to smooth paste with a little water and oil.
METHOD
Fry onions and garlic in olive oil till softish. Add
water and bring to the boil. Add turmeric and chilli pickle, salt and
sugar. Simmer for 20 minutes. Add gram flour mixture whilst stirring.
When soup thickens put it through the blender. Or use the jolly ol’
hand blender.
